Ladies, I know you didn’t wake up today thinking that you would be uttering these words, and quite frankly, I didn’t either. But the thought just came to mind. And the paradigm shift has come to light: you need give more attention to the boys in I.T.
You see, there is something you girls are missing and it’s pretty simple to see what you’re looking to fill a void for. Maybe things are changing for you girls, maybe it was Obama’s presidency that caused a shift in interests. Tired of the same old slabs of beef trying to get your number? Or could it be the drought of a season that is winter time?
It’s certainly tough during this time of year. The weather is frigidly cold and you’re stuck in the house with the heat turned up, your alma mater sweat pants and sweater fresh out of the dryer to be cozy, and a sparkling glass of white wine to keep the blood warm. But as you lay comfortably on the couch with your legs to the side under your warm blanket; I want you to glaze gracefully out the window into the night, pause, and silently whisper the words, “damn, I wish I had a hot boy in I.T.”. (SMILE!)
I can just see the looks of bewilderedness on the faces of the well groomed men in custom tailored business suits, silk shirts to the nine, and decked out alligator leather shoes that only come from the European Union. I can see them as they suddenly wonder why the smart and attractive girls are giving all the attention to the scronny and silent boys in I.T. Images of the Average Joe comes to mind. Has the Average Joe become the next Charles in Charge? 
How did this happen? Where did all the love come from? And what makes these boys from I.T. hot?
Women want to feel young and youthful again. They need an outlet to express their geek’ish tendencies without being judged. Let them search Google for limited edition DVD box sets of Bill Nye the Science Guy without being pressured into buying exercise videos by Suzanne Sommers. Save them the time and apathy of receiving sarcastic LOL’s when they pass Guitar Hero in one day. And be mindful of their feelings when they want to stay home and watch the Discovery Channel instead of going to the movies to see the latest and greatest man flick with you.
They need a line of communication that is reciprocated and complementary. Conversation with the boys in I.T. seem to be an opportunity for women to be themselves and talk about what is dear to their heart. Need someone to talk to about the audio troubles you encounter when you convert your videos on Youtube? Or how about discussing the difficulty you’re having with your current blog template because it was only customized for a 1024 X 768 resolution? Whatever it may be, the boys in I.T. can help you and will be there for you when you need it most. In fact, if you’re lucky, they’ll Photoshop you into their life!
So as the weather becomes colder and the nights remain lonely. And as you finish up the last drops of your alcoholic beverage, slowly closing your eyes and quietly falling sleep, remember the gentle words that echo from the mouths of the many women that came before you:
Damn.
Those boys in I.T. are hot.
