If you’re single and living in Toronto, dating in Toronto can be quite the challenge. There are different ways to meet someone, but with the busy lives that everyone has it’s no doubt that people find it hard to meet that special someone.
There are different ways for singles to meet people: (1) Through friends (2) Going out to the bar and being social (3) At work (4) At school (5) Organized dating events like Speed Dating
Like any city, there are Speed Dating companies in Toronto. An easy Google search would allow you to find them.
Just try typing in:
1)”Toronto Speed Dating”
2)”Toronto Speed Dates”
3) “Singles in Toronto”
4) “Toronto Speed Dating Blogs”
The reason why I won’t list him here is because I don’t know much about them having never participated in a speed dating event in Toronto. If I had, I would gladly share my experience.
Call me old fashioned, but I find that meeting someone based on common interests at a social get together, play, restaurant, work environment is more interesting because the initial pretense wasn’t to hook up with them but for a higher cause. Toronto has so many events and places to visit that I’m sure someone looking for a date, friendship, or relationship could find someone easily. Just get out of the house and explore!
One of the things that turns me off about speed dating events in general is the whole setup. People are gathering together to meet someone for dating. Conversations are struck with people with the intent to make a connection. Conversations are not struck to just have fun, learn something new about someone or just kick back, relax, and enjoy the environment you’re in. In the back of everyones mind, they are looking to hook up with someone to get a date, find a relationship, or for sex. (let’s face it, it’s true)
The only advantage I see is that it allows single people to meet other singles that are looking for the same thing where they would otherwise wouldn’t have met. I guess it’s not for everyone, and I’m sure a lot of single people in Toronto find these dating events helpful because of the challenges they face in finding people for dating, relationships, and the like in Toronto.
That’s why I don’t like speed dating events and for now, would never attend a speed dating event in Toronto.

Can’t help but ask, then why is this called TorontoSpeedDate.com?
Not that creative when it comes to domain names. I just saw that it was available and bought it. True story.
Thanks for the question Dave.
Great blog! I had to make a comment about this. I went speed dating a little over 3 years ago with a company called 25dates.com. I was weary but had heard great things about them and thought I would give it a try. It was a total blast! I would highly recommend trying it! I ended up with 6 “matches” and am still dating one of the people I met there and am about to propose. Wish me luck!
Very good site, where did you come up with the info in this post? I’m happy I found it though, ill be checking back soon to see what other articles you have.
