Rejection: Why many people fail to do things.

July 20th, 2009

rejectedHow many people fail to do things because they are scared of rejection? I would put money on it that a lot of people refrain from doing things due to the fear of being turned down or being embarrassed.

Have you ever been in that situation? I know I have. But once I learned that the outcome is deterministic and dependent on how I perceive it, I have no hesitation in doing what I want.

Let’s take for example that you want to ask a girl out, she’s pretty and probably gets asked out a lot, but you know she is single.

Would you hesitate and not do anything or would you go for it? Come on, be truthful. A lot of guys would hesitate and not ask her out because they are overwhelmed by her beauty and insecure about themselves. Really, I think it is all in a person’s head. We seem to over think things and play out all possible scenarios of what could happen.

My motto is this: the moment you like someone, just tell them. It only gets worse the more you wait.

Online dating should only be a complement for people. People shouldn’t be afraid of rejection. Rejection is a good experience to go through because you learn things as a person.
