Date Ideas in Toronto #3 - Going to sports games in Toronto

Toronto is a great city to live in because of the diversity and variety of places to partake in social activities. Of the many social activities you can take a significant other on, taking a date to a sporting event and attending sports games really can get the excitement going within the couples relationship, not to mention, it’s down right fun!

Here are the different sporting events you can take a date on :

1. Toronto Blue Jays Baseball (MLB) - Toronto Blue Jays Baseball at the Rogers Centre is very exciting and the crowd really gets into it. The games  usually last for more than 3 hours and with the 7th inning stretch and the crowd wave, they really try to get the crowd involved and supporting the home team. The reason this is a great date idea is that the game of baseball is kind of slow. This means that while things are taking time to you have to talk to your date about interesting stuff. Things can get boring if you run out of things to talk about so be prepared to keep things lively and interesting when the game gets drawn out.

2. Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey (NHL) - Canada is known for their hockey. If you are a Canadian and living in Toronto, you must see a Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Game. The body checking, the heckling, the mashed up hockey player faces, the fighting, the smell. All of these things culminate into one great experience. One of the greatest things about attending a hockey game is the fans. Hockey fans in Canada are really passionate and rowdy.

3. Toronto Raptors Basketball (NBA) - If you don’t know who Chris Bosh is or Jose Calderone, heaven help you. They are the top stars of the Toronto Raptors Basketball team. Basketball is a very fast paced game, so if you’re looking for a night that’s action packed, fast and really exciting taking a date to a basketball game may be interesting. In relation to other NBA teams, we don’t have that many star players. We don’t have a Lebron James, Steve Nash, Shaquille O’Neal or Dwayne Wade, but that shouldn’t discourage people from going as our Raptors team is getting better year over year.

4. Toronto Argonauts Football (CFL) - I have to admit. Not a lot of people brag about going to CFL/Argonaut games. Maybe it’s the fact that the NFL league is much more intense and exciting. When you compare the NFL league and CFL league, the CFL league has no chance. However, the Argonauts tickets are cheaper than other sports that you would attend. And if you’re a true football fan, attending an Argonauts game is the closest you’ll get to attending a professional football team in Canada.

5. Toronto FC (Soccer) - commonly abbreviated as TFC, they are the first Canadian soccer in the United States’ pre-eminent professional soccer league, Major League Soccer (MLS). The club was founded in 2006 and was MLS’ 13th team, joining the league in the 2007 season. Attending a game at BMO Field is something you have to experience. Te crowd is passionate and loud. To see a soccer game so close-up with fast paced action is really cool. If you’re really into soccer or never experienced a soccer game before, attending a Toronto FC game at BMO field is really something to experience.
