On the public transit, people seem to talk about their relationships and dating situation pretty openly.
Call it random. Call it a coincidence. Call it whatever you want. On my way to a volunteering event on a Sunday morning, I decided to take the subway to go into the city.
Both when I was going into the city and when I was going back home, I encountered two separate situations where women were talking about their current relationship woes. Is this indicative of the troubles that women are having with their relationships? Who knows…let’s dig deeper into the problems that women are having……..:
1) Indian Mom and Daughter talking about her “not so boyfriend material “friend”".
I’m sitting in front of a mother and a daughter. Don’t you love the mother/daughter talks about boys? It’s a great bonding experience for them and a really juicy information session for me: a WIN-WIN situation for everyone.
The daughter started to talk about the guy that is currently in her life. She says she doesn’t see things going anywhere because the guy isn’t ambitious. She utters the fact that the guy studied Political Science and is now doing something in Graphic Design. The Indian mother rolls her eyes and starts talking to her in her Indian accent.
“Graphic Design? That isn’t a job. I didn’t bring you to Canada to marry poor man”.
“I know mom, but he’s sooooo cute!” The girl exclaimed.
“Cute? Do you think I married your father because he was cute?” The mom yells.
The mom continues, “No more talking about this Graphic Designer. I will fix you up with a man.”
The lady then catches me staring at them. I then look down with a smirk on my face and continue to blog as much as I can about this whole ordeal haha. I don’t know why this stuff happens to me haha. So funny.
2) Coming back home………
Second post will be up shortly…
