The Corporate world  can be very competitive. Any leverage that you can gain over someone will help you maneuvre the competition. At work, there is always time to celebrate accomplishments and joyous occasions.  Christmas parties, project celebrations, charity initiatives are all common situations to show people up and show people who’s who.

A big emerging trend is for single people of age(30+) to “hire” people  to be their date for the evening. Single people do it for different reasons. They want to have a very attractive person on their arm.  Some people don’t want to let people know that they are single and alone, some people want to turn heads to show that they can attract the best of the best.

Who are they fooling?

They are only fooling themselves.

If you want to take someone, take a friend.(It definitely costs less). If you can’t find someone, go alone. No one really cares, as long as you’re having a good time and the people around you are having a good time.

The next time someone is considering “buying” a date to take to a Corporate Event they should think twice and probably just stay home. It really isn’t worth it.
